In his early years Rev. Yanez pastored a small  inner city church for 4 years called City of Refuge.  It was comprised of mainly teenagers and young adults.  In fact it was started by Rev. Yanez by just trying to fill a need in the area he lived.  Many kids and young adults were in need of some scriptural and biblical love that God put the desire to pastor these young people.  The church service quickly grew to 60 members.  Rev. Yanez built a church from scratch renovating his garage behind his home.  Many of his cousins called him "Noah" because he had no idea how to work as a carpenter.  God blessed his faith by sending family members and friends to assist in the renovation.  The church filled the neighborhood with hope, love and a pretty good garage worship band. 

Rev. David Yanez is now the Associate Pastor of Metro Church in Atascocita, TX.  Metro church is a non-denominational church established in 1984.  Located at 7811 FM 1960 East Humble TX 77346.  For over 14 years Rev. Yanez has had a strong relationship with Metro Church preaching in several occasions as a guest.  In 2007 Senior Pastor Linda Shanks went to be with the Lord.  Pastor David A. Hope was named senior pastor shortly after.  Rev. Yanez again seen the need to help a friend and a family church.  He started to assist in preaching evening services, media development and youth services. In late 2007 Rev. Yanez was asked to be the associate pastor.  Pastor Yanez preaches the evening service on Sunday nights at 6pm.He has the heart of a pastor and wants to see the body of Christ succeed in living, believing and embracing the goodness of God.
